Singer Van Morrison to Release Lockdown Protest Songs

The popular singer and songwriter Van Morrison says he is releasing three tracks in October to protest lockdown measures in the United Kingdom.

The songs are titled “Born to Be Free,” As I Walked Out,” and “No More Lockdowns.”

Morrison, like all entertainers, has been banned from performing in live venues since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March.

Morrison, who grew up in Northern Ireland during violent civil strife between Catholics and Protestants, stated on his website, “I’m not telling people what to do or think, the government is doing a great job of that already. It’s about freedom of choice, I believe people should have the right to think for themselves.”
