Do Masks Protect People from Virus?

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released this data, September 11, on 314 people with and without COVID-19 and their use of masks 14 days before the onset of illness. The numbers are about the same for each group.

People with virus:

Never: 6

Rarely: 6

Sometimes: 11

Often:  22

Always:  108

People without virus:

Never: 5

Rarely: 6

Sometimes: 7

Often:  23

Always:  118
