New CDC Data Shows 94 Percent of COVID-19 Deaths Involved Comorbidity

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released its provisional death counts for COVID- 19 for the period between February 1 and July 4.

The accompanying figure shows the death count peaked between April 18 and April 25 for most age groups. The report states 6 percent of all COVID-19-related deaths in the United States during the period were caused by the coronavirus, alone. Ninety-four percent of COVID-19 deaths  involved  comorbidities, with 2.6 conditions on average, per case.
