U.S. Life Expectancy Decreased by Three Years in the Past Two Years
According to estimates from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and a June preprint study, as well as other research on the topic, the average life expectancy for Americans has declined from 79 years in 2019 to about 76 in 2021.
